Profile
I steadfastly worked my way up through the ranks of CNET -- from Technician to Producer to Editor -- within the span of 5 years. The experience of working in a high-stress/volume, multi-platform IT environment informed my ascent to Web Producer, a position which relied upon my now wide-ranging knowledge of software applications and platforms in maintaining an enormous library of downloadable software. A two year stint as producer further broadened my technical know-how, and lead to a promotion to Associate Editor for CNET's newly-introduced Linux Center site. Now focused more on the business end of software and hardware, I planned, assigned, edited, and/or wrote all of CNET's Linux-related content, including my own monthly opinion column. These responsibilities segued into a stint with (still business-focused) CNET Enterprise site, for which I then assumed broader editorial responsibilities: editing and creating content regarding Operating Systems. CNET Enterprise eventually folded, becoming ZDNet Tech Update, for which I oversaw editorial development for many additional areas including mobile computing, storage, servers. These days I have broadened the scope of my knowledge to include digital video, non-linear editing, 3D modeling and animation, and filmmaking in general. Currently I am Executive Editor for PlayWhat.com, a comprehensive download library of video game-related content, featuring articles, game reviews - both written and video - blogs and more.
