I am the quintessential Jill of All Trades with more than twenty years of employment and private sector subcontractor experience. In terms of background, I began as a technical writing intern at Honeywell Inc. writing copy and captions for their programmable controller and timer user manuals. From there, I worked as an office manager for my family’s retail business, which included writing all customer mailer and advertising copy. Next, I worked as a manuscript editor for a local information service, which included editing blue pages and writing captions. I also worked for four years as a proofreader and format editor of court, legal, and medical transcripts. This included hearings, patient depositions, and medical discharge summaries. Eleven years’ ago, I began working as a subcontractor writer and Internet researcher of scholarly papers. During this time, I also assisted private clients in doing legal, business, and education research (which included research on a dissertation for a Master’s degree in Education), researching businesses online, document fact checking (verification of names, locations, and spelling of technical terms), typing business letters, copy editing documents, writing and editing resumes. In addition, I am a researcher, copy editing, and writing intern at Hollywood Scriptwriter Magazine.
My home office includes a Broadband high-speed Internet connection, an extensive reference library, fax machine (and eFax), LaserJet printer, digital camera, and image-capturing software (Snag-It).
