My extensive editing/proofreading experience includes:
Financial:
For the past 17 years, I have worked for various financial printers editing/proofreading prospectuses, annual and semi-annual reports and EDGAR. This work presupposes a sharp eye for detail, accuracy in dealing with numerical content, and an ability to meet all sorts of deadline pressures.
Trade Books:
For the past 20 years, I have worked as a freelance editor/proofreader for, among others, the following companies:
E. P. Dutton (fiction and nonfiction)
St. Martin’s Press (fiction and nonfiction)
Hyperion Press (a biography of William Burroughs).
I have had an especially rewarding association with Walker & Company, working on many books of detective fiction for them, and a long line of nonfiction books, including Dava Sobel’s "Longitude" and "Galileo’s Daughter," and Mark Kurlansky’s "Salt" and "Basque History of the World."
Manuals:
I helped proofread and produce AICPA training manuals and Scholastic Press’s Literacy Place Teacher’s Edition.
I am also a published author with four novels to my credit.
Based on all of the above, therefore, I feel I can bring a discerning and critical eye, backed by superb skills honed from long experience, to any project a client might have.
