Fiction proofread for errors!

Prepare for publication!

Professional proofreaders make or suggest corrections in stories to prepare them for publication. Errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, plot and character development will prevent publishers from taking a story seriously. Inconsistencies in the development of characters or plot are important to prevent jarring the reader out of the story.

Sometimes having a second person, one who is experienced in editing for publication, may be just what is needed to prepare a manuscript for submission to a publisher. Errors, including typos, grammatical mistakes, misspellings, mistakes in punctuation, can all be corrected before an author submits a manuscript to a publishing company.

Submitting a polished work is essential to getting a publisher to take written work seriously.

Common errors that writers of fiction make tend to be in dialogue punctuation. A proofreader who specializes in fiction editing can make the difference between having your manuscript actually read by a publisher and having it entirely disregarded.

An objective eye can find errors missed by the author, and in fiction, can make sure the plot and characters are well-developed, with no inconsistencies that might destroy the author’s credibility with the reader. Improper grammar, misspellings, and incorrect punctuation could have the same effect, and the reader is taken away from the story instead of enraptured.
