Painting Contractor Bids Edited for Business Needs

Painter Home Improvement Contractor Bids Agreement

Painting contractors are sometimes in high demand but also have lots of competition. As a result, often there are many different painting contractors bidding for the same job. Not all of them will follow the same formula, which means that different contractors could include different information. This can be confusing to the client.

That is part of why it is so important for a painting contractor to have a clear, accurate, well-written bid for a job. Each party must be 100 percent clear about what is included and what is not, such as base labor, materials, paint, other expenses such as gas or lodging, any additional subcontractors, what the owner is expected to provide (if anything) and even open opportunity for unexpected problems. In addition, the terms of payment expectations must be clear.

Without proper planning to write a clear bid or estimate proposal, both the painting contractor and the client could potentially be very unhappy in the end. Not only that, but also if the potential client is confused by the unclear bid, he or she may not accept it for that reason alone. Because of this potentially negative outcome, if the painting contractor is not prepared to write a clear bid, it is important to have an outside source perform extensive editing of the proposal. With that, the more likely outcome is that both the bidding contractor and the client would be clear from start to finish, the client could pick the best bid based on total cost estimates, and the contractor who gets the project can be sure of when and how much the client would pay in any number of circumstances.
