The EditFast Resume Builder gathers your information and presents it on your Web page. The resulting online resume will be viewed by clients and prospective clients of EditFast. The information contained in your online resume will be related to your skills as an editor and will not contain any personal information aside from your first name. Our privacy and security policy states that your personal information (full name, address, email address, telephone number, etc) is never given out. We are 100% committed to that policy.

As soon as you register by sending us your name and email address you have begun to use the Resume Builder. The Resume Builder process for editors at EditFast is long, but the numerous forms you are asked to complete serve several important purposes.

1. The information from these registration forms is used in several different areas of the EditFast Web site to gather clients, and promote your abilities and expertise in editing, writing, and proofreading.
   
2. The forms gather information for use on your EditFast Personal Web Page. Filling in all the forms completely is your best bet for success. The more information you can give about your editing, writing, or proofreading abilities the better. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, Lycos, Hotbot, AltaVista, MSN, Netscape, DogPile, or any of the hundreds of other search engines and directories available on the Internet, will find these pages and keep them in their database. (Making sure the search engines find your page is facilitated by the EditFast Search Engine AutoSubmitter available in the Editors' Resource Area.) When a potential client does a search using specific words or phrases they will discover your Web page and will be able to contact you through the "Contact this editor link on your page. More information is available in the Editors' Resource Area, but, generally speaking, the more words and the greater the variety of the words and phrases you have on your Personal Web Page the better your chances of being found. Of course, these words and phrases must be related to editing, writing, or proofreading and it goes without saying that they must also be written in a coherent manner in order to secure the confidence of the client when they visit your page.
   
3. The registration forms, along with the test for proofreaders which Prentice Hall has provided for our use, also act as an initial screening process and helps ensure that EditFast acquires only the best and most committed editors, writers and proofreaders. We are very strict about the quality of the editors we allow our clients to contact.
