EditFast Editors' Personal Web Pages

After completing the registration process all EditFast editors receive a personalized Web page. Prospective clients will be able to locate your personal Web page and contact you directly in four ways.

1. Once your page has been enabled it will be added to the search engines and directories database when they next spider the EditFast Web site. This process may take anywhere from one to two months after your initial registration. Potential clients looking for an editor will then be able to find your page by doing a search from Google, Yahoo, Lycos, Hotbot, AltaVista, MSN, Netscape, DogPile, or any of the hundreds of other search engines and directories available on the Internet.
2. All clients who have previously used the EditFast editing services can return to EditFast and using keywords they can search for your page through the Clients' search function in the clients' resource area. Including as much information as possible on your Web page about your editing skills, education, and previous editing jobs will be beneficial to you. Having a wide range of information on your Personal Web Page will increase the likelihood that they will find you and choose you to work on their project.
3. Returning clients who have previously selected you and added you to their favorites file will be able to easily contact you again from this file and will be sure to do so if you have done your job well on previous occasions.
4. The EditFast "Editor/site search function at the top of every page on the site is now linked to the editors' Web pages. Potential clients who enter their keywords will see a list of editors whose profiles match those keywords. They can then view the pages that interest them and contact the editor they choose by clicking the "Contact this editor" link on every editor's Web page.

When a prospective client finds your page they will see your editing skills and talents, experience and editing specialization. From your web page there is a link which will connect the client directly to you through the EditFast Message Center (MC).

The information included on your Personal Web Page will be taken from your Editor profile and the EditFast Resume Builder. The following information will be available to prospective clients:

• First name
  • for security reasons only your first name is used.
• Country
  • the country location is often a requirement for clients due to time zone considerations
• City
  • the city is also often requested for the above reason.
• Profile
  • this is your personal cover letter, a description of your expertise, experience and specialization
• Education degree
  • a degree from a recognized university is always a requirement for clients and for registration at EditFast.
• Major specialization
  • this gives the client some idea of your area of focus
• Second specialization
  • adds additional information to the above
• First language
  • having English as your first language is a necessary requirement for clients and for registration with EditFast
• Present occupation
  • this adds more information about your skills
• Editing experience
  • gives the client some idea of what type of editing you have done in the past.
• Areas of specialization
  • this is your preferred choice for editing and may or may not be associated with your University major
• Software proficiencies
  • this is often a client's first requirement. EditFast does NOT allow documents to be edited in software other than the software the document was created with. Anyone found to have edited a document in a program other than the application it was originally created in will be deleted from the EditFast database. No exceptions.
• Availability
  • this is your own assessment of your available times and the reliability of your computer connection.

Your Personal Web Page is the key to promoting yourself and it can be updated or changed at any time from the Editors' Resource Area. There are Web page promotional tools available in the Resource area. It is your responsibility to include as much information as possible to attract a wide variety of clients to your Personal Web Page.
