Quotation Marks
Use
of Quotation Marks in Titles of Short Works
Use quotation marks to indicate titles of short works (magazine
articles, poetry, songs, television and radio episodes, short
stories, and essays).
What is the most famous line in Tennyson's "Ulysses"?
There is a great article on business communication
called "How to get your message across."
One of television's biggest events was the "Who Shot
J.R." episode of Dallas, parodied by the "Who Shot Mr. Burns"
episode of The Simpsons.
Note: Remember that the title of a longer work containing
shorter works should be set off in the styles of longer works,
usually by underlining or italicizing. In other words, a book
of poetry is treated as a book, not as a poem. For example,
"Morning in the Burned House" is a poem by Margaret Atwood,
but if you are referring to the title of the anthology containing
it, you would write Morning in the Burned House.
