Notaries Editing and Proofreading Services

A notarial certificate is one of the shortest documents in law and one of the least forgiving. The wording is prescribed, the details are formulaic, and a jurat that says "sworn" where it should say "affirmed", or that omits the place of signing, can render the document unusable — sometimes only discovered when a foreign authority rejects it weeks later.

We proofread and edit notarial certificates, jurats and affidavit backings, certified true copy attestations, statutory declarations, powers of attorney and consent letters, travel consent and identity documents, apostille and authentication cover materials, and notarial registers and record-keeping templates. Our editors check that names match the identification exactly, that dates and places of signing are complete and consistent, that the certificate wording matches the act actually performed, and that the same person's name is spelled identically in every place it appears.

Documents destined for use abroad get particular attention. Receiving authorities apply their requirements strictly and without discretion, and a rejection means the client repeats the entire process — often from another country.

Everything is handled confidentially. For notaries and commissioners producing high volumes, we can prepare a checked template set, so the wording is right before it is used a thousand times rather than corrected afterwards.
