Fine tuning the content of the conference

Improving the readability of the conference report

The first step will be to study the content, to facilitate fine tuning of the document through content editing. Content editing is meant to make the text read smoothly. It entails many steps. First, superfluous material may need to be weeded out. With fewer distractions and diversions that are only tangentially relevant or not at all, the text will become very much more engaging. Secondly, content may need to be done to rearrange the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. This will make the text more focused. Thirdly, missing information can adversely affect the intelligibility and readability of the text. So, missing links, if any, will need to be identified. The client will be kept informed and asked to fill in the blanks. The new material received from the client will be integrated in the manuscript in the appropriate places. Fourthly, inconsistencies and bloomers in the text, if any, will be brought to the notice of the client. Based on the client's response, the text will be modified. In addition to these four steps, a summary of the proceedings will also be prepared. Once the content is fully understood, it will become possible to give suitable headings. Giving the right headings can help to communicate the highlights in a way that is compelling. If need be, bulleted points can be prepared and boxed for easy reference. Preparing the summaries helps sharpen the focus, which in turn will help frame the recommendations of the conference. Once a draft report is prepared, it can be shared with the client and modified according to the client's feedback.

“I found a company called Demand Studios in “The Editorial.” I am now making $1,000 to $1,800 per week editing short “How To” articles for ehow.com. I'm loving it!” Judi
