Global business equals exports and imports

International trade impacts all areas of a business, with goods and services coming into and also leaving your markets. Export and import are commonly used terms for the movement of products and services across borders. Business has become global, resulting in complex global supply chains. There are managerial implications for marketing, manufacturing, finance, accounting and distribution. World trade impacts product design, human resources and intellectual property. Compliance with these standards is important. Formats and contents of trade documents used by exporters, importers and freight forwarders have been carefully drafted. For the shipment of cargo, a great deal of detail defines ownership, supply chain responsibilities and physical properties. Containers are an excellent example of how world trade influences trucking, air freight, ocean cargo, warehousing, storage and rail transportation. Laws, customs, quality standards and other details must cross language barriers, time zones and climate zones in addition to borders. Establishment of an export marketing strategy is necessary for many companies since we reside within the worldwide marketplace.
