Medical Report Editor, Proofreader, With Excellent

Beyond voice recognition, take editing to the next

Medical records are the life blood of insurance companies, privacy policies, medical school instruction, and much more. In order to generate all these reports, doctors rely heavily on dictation, and until fairly recently, have also relied on the talents of medical transcriptionists. But in recent years, to cut down on the expense, voice recognition software has become all the rage. The problem is that voice recognition software is not equipped to distinguish the context of dictated material, such as they're, their, or there, or recognize distinctions in medical terminology peculiar to a given part of the body, such as peroneal versus perineal.

This is where an editor, experienced in editing basic English, as well as medical terminology is essential in order to avoid potentially grave errors with dire consequences.

I am a published writer (nonfiction), and have been editing medical reports for 25 years. I am familiar with most specialties, as well as the formatting conventions of the APA, MLA, and Chicago styles. Before that, I spent 17 years working in the legal field, and have complete familiarity with the Uniform System of Citation.

Let me review and edit your documents, be they everyday reports, or more elaborate theses and book chapters. Do not rely on an unreliable system of voice recognition.

“I found a company called Demand Studios in “The Editorial.” I am now making $1,000 to $1,800 per week editing short “How To” articles for ehow.com. I'm loving it!” Judi
