Short stories proofread, novels proofread

Error-free short stories, error-free novels

Short stories and novels are written for the enjoyment of the reader. There should be no distracting typos or obvious errors to detract from that enjoyment. An expert proofreader will ensure that there are no typos, spelling errors or punctuation errors. Proofreading is the final step before publication of the material. Prior to this step, the novel or short story has undergone a number of reviews. Editing has already been completed. The proofreader is looking for typos, spelling and punctuation errors. A keen eye to detail is necessary. The final proofreader should not be familiar with the material, thereby reading with “fresh eyes.” The first-time reader does not have pre-conceived ideas about the material and looks at it strictly to ensure that there are no errors. A good proofreader will read the material from beginning to end and also from end to beginning to check word accuracy without reading for content. They will also read the novel or short story for content to be sure words have not been omitted. At this final stage, although editing has already been completed, the proofreader will check with the author if there are any questions about content as well. The author will rely on the proofreader to catch any errors that have slipped by previously or that have occurred due to changes in copy that were made in the final draft. The proofreader is a valuable asset to anyone who publishes material such as a novel or short story to be enjoyed by the general public.

“I found a company called Demand Studios in “The Editorial.” I am now making $1,000 to $1,800 per week editing short “How To” articles for ehow.com. I'm loving it!” Judi
