I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 with majors in English writing and communication rhetoric and a certificate in film studies from the College of Arts and Sciences. Over the past four years, I worked for various companies and during this time wrote, proofread and edited copy in a wide variety of styles and mediums that may be of relevance to your needs, including: advertisements, proposals, columns, brochures, articles, German-to-English translations, e-mail blasts, newsletters, magazines, websites, SEO copy, taglines, sales sheets, direct mail, case studies, white papers, video scripts, contest rules and intranet site guides.

Lastly, in my time as a proofreader and editor, I developed my own “10 Commandments of Proofreading for Quality Control,” which I include here for your perusal:
I.	Proofread once for grammar, sentence structure and clarity.
II.	Proofread a second time – backwards – for spelling.
III.	Look for continuity among capitalization, font type, size, names, uncertain words, etc.
IV.	Print, proofread and make corrections. Repeat.
V.	Make sure there are page numbers.
VI.	Once you notice a few glaring mistakes early on in a job, pay extra special attention to that particular work.
VII.	If you’re uncertain about the spelling of a word, check it.
VIII.	View every document as if you definitely know there are mistakes.
IX.	When it comes to things like a table of contents or footnotes, make sure the titles and numbers match.
X.	If possible, don’t proofread for more than four hours continuously. The quality may suffer.
