YouTube Scriptwriters Editing and Proofreading Services

The video is fourteen minutes long and genuinely good from about ninety seconds. Before that there is a welcome, a request to subscribe, a summary of last week's video and an explanation of what this one will cover. Half the audience is gone before the content begins, and the creator is looking at the retention graph wondering what happened at 0:40.

We edit scripts for creator-led video — opening sequences and hooks, full video scripts and their structure, chapter and section transitions, calls to action and their placement, titles and descriptions in relation to the script's promise, and the short-form scripts cut down from long-form pieces. Our editors work on the first thirty seconds and the graph that follows them.

The opening thirty seconds decide the fate of the video, and their failure is housekeeping placed where the content belongs. Nobody has yet decided to watch when the welcome begins. We work through these so the first sentence delivers on the title rather than introducing it, since a viewer arrived because of a specific promise and every second before that promise is honoured is a second spent on somebody who has not yet agreed to be there; so the subscribe request is moved to a point where the viewer has received something, because asking before delivering converts poorly and costs the viewers who leave during it; so the recap of previous videos is cut or reduced to a clause, given that new viewers do not care and returning viewers already know; so the structure is stated only where it helps the viewer decide to stay, and in one sentence rather than as a contents list; so an open loop is created honestly — a question the video will actually answer — rather than a tease that is resolved in the last thirty seconds; so the middle is written with the graph in mind, with a reason to stay planted before each point where attention typically drops; so the payoff promised in the title arrives before the end, since holding it hostage produces one satisfied viewer and many who left; and so the script is read aloud and timed, because written sentences and spoken sentences have different lengths. Scripts written this way hold the audience they attracted.

Everything you send is treated in confidence, including scripts, analytics and unreleased videos. We are editors rather than platform, production or marketing advisers, and we offer no view on algorithms, retention or your channel. What we can do is put the promise in the first sentence.
