Conversion Copywriting Editing and Proofreading Services

Forty thousand visitors saw the new pricing page, and it converted at 1.9 percent against the old page's 2.1 percent. The copy had everything the pattern calls for: a countdown, a row of customer logos, and a money-back guarantee set in bold. What the test could not fix was that almost nobody arriving on that page could tell what the software actually did. The writer had answered objections that nobody in the sample had raised.

The documents we edit for Conversion Copywriting

Landing page and homepage copy make up most of what reaches us. Value proposition work and headline hierarchies come with them. Product and pricing page copy arrives constantly, and so do form and checkout copy, call-to-action wording, and objection-handling sections. We also see email sequences built around a single conversion goal, ad copy matched to its landing page, voice-of-customer research synthesis, message hierarchies and wireframe copy, test hypotheses and variant documentation, test result write-ups, and onboarding and activation copy. Our editors work on the copy and on the research the copy should have been built from.

What the editing involves

Voice-of-customer research is the input that separates copy that converts from copy that follows the pattern, and most pages are written without any. A writer inventing objections invents plausible ones. The real objection is frequently something no one on the team counts as an objection at all: that the pricing page implies a sales call, that the product looks like it needs a developer to install, or that the guarantee sounds conditional. Research synthesis works best when the customer's own words survive intact rather than being paraphrased into marketing language, because a buyer who wrote "I needed something my bookkeeper could run without calling me" has already produced better copy than the team would write for her.

Ranking matters as much as collecting. Objections ordered by how many people raised them produce a different page from objections ordered by how easily they can be answered, and the second ordering is the one teams drift into. The point of hesitation matters too, because a page can answer an objection only where the objection arises, and a guarantee placed below the fold is answering a reader who has already gone. Anything the research contradicts deserves a flag of its own, including the client's favorite line: "the only platform built for teams like yours."

The test hypothesis is worth writing properly as well. A hypothesis reading "moving the price above the fold should raise trial starts, and an unchanged trial-start rate disproves it" gives the team something to learn from. A test that changes the headline, the button color, the price display, and the hero image at once produces a number and no knowledge, whichever way the number goes.

Confidentiality and the limits of our role

Everything you send us is treated in confidence, including test results, customer research, and pages before release. We are editors, not conversion specialists, and we offer no opinion on testing methodology, statistical significance, or performance. What we can do is make the copy clear and keep it grounded in what customers actually said.
